Wart Treatment

Warts are raised growths on the surface of the skin or other organs. It is a non-cancerous skin growth caused by the HPV virus. There are four main types of warts. These include Plantar warts (on the soles of the feet), Hand warts, Genital warts and Flat warts (which can appear anywhere). Warts are contagious and can appear, disappear, or reappear on their own. Medical treatment for warts involves Dermatologists burning them off with lasers or freezing them off with a nitrogen solution.

Genital warts require a specific type of treatment (usually paint) and you should consult with your doctor if you have these. Genital warts can spread to sexual contacts, so unprotected sexual contact should be avoided until they have been treated.

Some home remedies for warts and cures for warts include:
1. Apply vitamin E oil to the surrounding skin. Crush a clove of raw garlic, place it on the wart, and cover it with an adhesive bandage. The raw garlic causes a blister to form, and the wart generally falls off within a week. Apply vitamin E oil to the area to help it heal.
2. Chop one raw onion in a dish, cover it with salt and leave overnight. Apply the resulting juice to the warts twice a day, until they disappear.
3. Cut fresh pineapple into thin slices. Apply to warts several times a day until they are gone.
4. Apply the milky juice exuding from the stems of figs and leaves.
